What is Reiki?
Reiki is a form of energy healing that can help alleviate physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual stress. It is a way to ‘tune-up’ your energy to it’s healthiest state allowing for healing to take place. Reiki is a gentle and safe healing practice that is geared towards removing any energy blocks in our system caused by emotional, mental, or physical stress and pain. During a Reiki Session, a practitioner places his or her hands on the client with the intention of the Reiki Energy to flow. This Reiki energy, also known as the Universal Life Force Energy, is not the practitioner’s energy. It is a divinely guided energy that knows exactly where the blocks are and pushes them out as well as fills up the energy gas tanks wherever you are low in energy. And because Reiki does not use the practitioner’s energy it is safe for both the practitioner as well as the Reiki recipient. You do not run the risk of absorbing the practitioner’s energy and vice versa. During a session a person may feel heat, tingling, or cooling sensations as blocks are removed. Most clients get to a deep state of peace and relaxation during a session.
I am a proud Illinois native. Fortunately, Northern Nevada has a lot to offer for someone like me who takes pleasure in the outdoors, sightseeing, and the various Nevada attractions. Every time I travel, I learn something new and fascinating about the place being visited and myself. I am a Columbia Southern University graduate. I am passionate about learning. Whether I am studying about my next travel destination, history, psychotherapy, or Reiki, I put all my efforts into commanding knowledge of my chosen interest. For me, learning is a labor of love.
I was first introduced to Reiki during a very drastic period during my life. A close friend informed me of the holistic nature and benefits of Reiki. So I decided to give Reiki a try to help relax my mind and body. Immediately I felt that I had found something special. I felt more emotionally balanced, but my physical body felt a new level of calm and relaxation. I was aware of how much relief and healing I was getting from my Reiki treatments. I began to go once a month to work on some much-needed healing for my mind, body, and spirit. I realized that I was receiving so much healing and help from my Reiki treatments that I wanted to extend that sense of peace to others. I genuinely believe in the healing capacity of Reiki. It has changed my life, and I look forward to sharing the love and light that Reiki can bring into your life.

30 Minute Reiki Session: $ 45.00
60 Minute Reiki Session: $ 85.00
When you book a Reiki session you are taking a significant step towards your overall well-being. Reiki requires the participant to be open to accepting the healing and guidance that is given to them. For every session, we strive to shed light on the source of the issue and provide specific guidance for each individual situation. Every client walks away with a deeper understanding of themselves and what steps they can take to help them move forward on their path.
Before your session
When you enter, you are asked to leave your shoes at the door. There are a few reasons for this, the first is practical, we have light colored carpets and second, when you leave your shoes at the door it is as if you are leaving the cares of the world at the door. Next, you will be asked to fill out the intake form which will include your intentions for the session. Next, there is a brief consultation where we will talk about what you would like to get out of the session. This is the perfect opportunity to ask any questions you may have about Reiki, my background, or what you may expect during the session.
During the session
You will be escorted into the treatment room where there will be a massage table, soothing music, and the sound of running water. You will remain fully clothed during the session. You will be asked to remove shoes, wallets, hats, glasses, and belts. Typically you will first lie on your back and we will place a covering over your eyes to help you relax. You may feel a slight touch as the practitioner's hands gently lay on or over parts of your body. During a session some clients may feel heat or cooling, some might feel tingling, some might not feel anything at all. Almost all, feel a deep sense of relaxation that permeates their whole being. Some clients experience different levels of release during the session. This can arise as tears, pressure, shaking, memories, or pain. This is a natural process of releasing from the body and a sign that deep healing is taking place.
After the session
You will be asked to take a few minutes to re-awaken to your surroundings. You will be provided with water to help you flush out your system and asked to fill out another form on how you felt during and after the session. Once done, we will discuss what we each felt, what that means to your overall well-being, and the next steps you can take on your own to become more whole, happy and healthy. This is a critical piece to the healing process as it allows for powerful insights to be shared, maintain an open mind, and take with you whatever resonates with you.

How Does Reiki Help People?
Reiki is a type of energy work that originated in Japan. It’s a simple method of light touch that is based on the Asian concept of ki or life energy. A session feels like a glowing radiance that flows through and around you. The experience is very soothing and results in the client entering a wonderful state of relaxation in which one’s worries and cares seem to melt away.
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
How Does Reiki Work?
We are alive because life force is flowing through us. Life force flows within the physical body though pathways called chakras, meridians and nadis. It also flows around us in a field of energy called the aura. Life force nourishes the organs and cells of the body, supporting them in their vital functions. When this flow of life force is disrupted, it causes diminished function in one or more of the organs and tissues of the physical body. The life force is responsive to thoughts and feelings. It becomes disrupted when we accept, either consciously or unconsciously, negative thoughts or feelings about ourselves. These negative thoughts and feelings attach themselves to the energy field and cause a disruption in the flow of life force. This diminishes the vital function of the organs and cells of the physical body.Reiki heals by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and charging them with positive energy. It raises the vibratory level of the energy field in and around the physical body where the negative thoughts and feelings are attached. This causes the negative energy to break apart and fall away. In so doing, Reiki clears, straightens and heals the energy pathways, thus allowing the life force to flow in a healthy and natural way.
What is the History of Reiki?
Mrs. Hawayo Takata (Takata Sensei) brought Reiki from Japan to the West in 1937 and continued to practice and teach until her passing in 1980. Because of her devotion, Reiki has been passed on to millions of people all over the world, and the numbers continue to grow! And as you will see, if it wasn’t for her, Reiki most likely would never have been discovered by the West and even in Japan would have been practiced secretly by only a small number of people.
During a meditation several years after developing Reiki, Mikao Usui decided to add the Reiki Ideals to the practice of Reiki. The Ideals came in part from the five prinicples of the Meiji emperor of Japan whom Mikao Usui admired. The Ideals were developed to add spiritual balance to Usui Reiki. Their purpose is to help people realize that healing the spirit by consciously deciding to improve oneself is a necessary part of the Reiki healing experience. In order for the Reiki healing energies to have lasting results, the client must accept responsibility for her or his healing and take an active part in it. Therefore, the Usui system of Reiki is more than the use of the Reiki energy. It must also include an active commitment to improve oneself in order for it to be a complete system. The ideals are both guidelines for living a gracious life and virtues worthy of practice for their inherent value.
Is Reiki a Religion?
Although Reiki energy is spiritual in nature, Reiki is not a religion. Practitioners are not asked to change any religious or spiritual beliefs they may have. They are free to continue believing anything they choose and are encouraged to make their own decisions concerning the nature of their religious practices.
How is a Reiki treatment given?
In a standard treatment Reiki energy flows from the practitioner’s hands into the client. The client is usually laying on a massage table but treatments can also be given while the client is seated or even standing. The client remains fully clothed. The practitioner places her/his hands on or near the client’s body in a series of hand positions. These include positions around the head and shoulders, the stomach, and feet. Other, more specific positions may be used based on the client’s needs. Each position is held for three to ten minutes depending on how much Reiki the client needs at each position. The whole treatment usually lasts between 45 and 90 minutes.
Does one have to stop seeing a regular doctor or psychologist in order to receive a Reiki treatment?
No. Reiki works in conjunction with regular medical or psychological treatment. If one has a medical or psychological condition, it is recommended that one see a licensed health care professional in addition to receiving Reiki treatments. Reiki energy works in harmony with all other forms of healing, including drugs, surgery, psychological care or any other method of alternative care and will improve the results.
Are there any side effects from a Reiki treatment?
Most of the time a person will feel relaxed and uplifted by a Reiki treatment. However, sometimes a person will have what is called a healing crisis. As a person’s vibration goes up, toxins that have been stored in the body will be released into the blood stream to be filtered by the liver and kidneys and removed from the system. When this happens, sometimes a person can get a headache or stomach ache or feel weak. If this happens, it is a good idea to drink more water, eat lighter meals and get more rest. The body is cleansing as part of the healing process so this is a good sign.
Are there any scientific experiments that demonstrate Reiki works?
What can be treated with Reiki?
Reiki has had a positive affect on all forms of illness and negative conditions. This includes minor things like head or stomach aches, bee stings, colds, flu, tension and anxiety as well as serious illness like heart disease, cancer, leukemia, etc. The side effects of regular medical treatments have also been reduced or eliminated. This includes the negative effects of chemotherapy, post-operative pain and depression as well as improving the healing rate and reducing the time needed to stay in the hospital. Reiki always helps and, in some cases, people have experienced complete healings which have been confirmed by medical tests before and after the Reiki treatments. However, while some have experienced miracles, they cannot be guaranteed. Stress reduction with some improvement in one’s physical and psychological condition are what most experience.
What does a Reiki treatment feel like?
What one experiences during a Reiki treatment varies somewhat from person to person. However, feelings of deep relaxation are usually felt by all. In addition, many feel a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and surrounds them. As the Reiki energy encourages one to let go of all tension, anxiety, fear or other negative feelings a state of peace and well-being is experienced. Some drift off to sleep or report floating outside their bodies or have visions and other mystical experiences. At the end of the treatment, one feels refreshed with a more positive, balanced outlook.
Is it safe for pregnant woman?
Since Reiki is guided by the Higher Power, the Reiki energy will know the condition of the client or student and adjust appropriately. Reiki can only do good. Many pregnant women have received treatments with great benefit to them and their unborn child. It has also been used during child birth. Pregnant women have also taken the Reiki training and received the Reiki attunement with beneficial results.
What about babies?
Babies love Reiki. It is very healthy for them. Do not worry about it being too strong. Reiki automatically adjusts to what the baby needs.
